Park Lane Copenhagen: Where the Room Became Part of the Dining Experience
Introduction
Park Lane Copenhagen is a five-star boutique hotel in Hellerup, just north of the city. Its reputation is built on food, with three restaurants and an award-winning lunch concept.
The hotel wanted to bring that same standard into the guest room. SuitePad made the room part of the dining experience, and gave guests an AI concierge to answer questions the moment they had them.
Guests took to it right away. They ordered food and drinks straight from the room, and almost one in three (32%) chatted with SuitePad AI during their stay. And they kept coming back. Together, guests spent more than 370 hours on the device, well above what most city hotels see.
About Park Lane Copenhagen
Park Lane Copenhagen is a 69-room five-star boutique hotel in Hellerup, just north of central Copenhagen, overlooking the gardens of Øregård Park. It is an independent hotel and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
The building dates to 1926, when it housed a cinema and later a ballroom. It has been restored with high ceilings, Nordic design, and period detail.
Dining is at the heart of the hotel: three restaurants, including Rosé Rosé, named Best Lunch Restaurant in Copenhagen in 2024, and the Michelin-starred Parsley Salon. SuitePad is live across the property, giving guests a direct way to order and manage their stay.
Ordering, Made Effortless
Good in-room dining depends on one thing: ordering has to be easy. Phone calls and printed menus add friction at the moment a guest is ready to enjoy something.
Park Lane put the full menu on the device, one tap away, available the moment a guest picked it up.
The Rosé Rosé Evening menu was the favourite, followed by breakfast in the room and the Snack Menu. Restaurant 2900 rounded out the choices. Across the stay period, guests placed their orders straight from the room, with no call to reception.
How Guests Used the Device
SuitePad tablets went into every room, with the menu set up to match the hotel's outlets: day and evening dining, breakfast, and beverages.
Room service was the most viewed section, with 5,000 page views, ahead of breakfast at 3,500 and the Rosé Rosé Evening menu at 3,300. Across 26,000 page views, guests treated the device as a real part of the stay.
SuitePad AI: A Concierge in Every Room
At a hotel built around food, guests have questions. When does the restaurant open? What is on the evening menu? Can I get a late checkout? SuitePad AI answers them instantly, right on the device, without a call to reception.
Guests took to it fast. 32% of guests used SuitePad AI during their stay, asking about the restaurants, opening hours, and the hotel itself in their own words.
AI is a large part of why guests stayed on the device. The average session ran 3:59, above the benchmark for city hotels. When guests can simply ask instead of search, they engage more, and every answer is a chance to point them toward the restaurants and services that make the stay special.
For the team, it means fewer routine calls to reception and more time for the guests in front of them. The questions that used to interrupt the front desk are handled on the device, day and night.
The Restaurant, In the Room
Park Lane's dining is what sets it apart, from the Michelin-starred Parsley Salon to Rosé Rosé, named the best lunch restaurant in Copenhagen.
Putting those menus on the device meant guests could order the same quality without leaving the room, at the exact moment they wanted it.
Evening dining led the way, with the Rosé Rosé Evening menu the clear favourite. Breakfast in the room was close behind, a sign that guests reached for the device across the whole day, not just at dinner.
Why It Worked
It all worked with no extra staffing and no added work for the team. Guests use the device because it is easy, and the menus are the ones the hotel is already known for.
Guests viewed 26,000 pages on the device and spent more than 370 hours exploring it, and 32% used the AI concierge, all from a single tablet in every room.
Our guests come to Park Lane for the food, and now they can enjoy it without leaving the room. It brought our restaurants into every stay and gave guests a concierge on the device, without changing how the team works.
What Comes Next
The in-room tablet is now part of how Park Lane hosts its guests. The next step is to build on it, extending the device to spa and wine bar bookings and connecting it to the hotel's systems for a fuller picture of each stay.
The pattern is set. The room is no longer just a place to stay. It is an extension of the hotel itself, welcoming each guest, answering their questions, and bringing the restaurants to their door.
